What is a radar speed sign?+

A radar speed sign, or vehicle-activated sign (VAS), detects each vehicle's speed and displays it back to the driver to prompt them to slow down. MotionIQ also logs every reading to ConnectIQ, so the sign becomes measurable before-and-after evidence.

Is this a Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS)?+

Yes. MotionIQ is a Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS), also called a Radar Activated Speed Sign (RASS), driver feedback sign or Speed Indication Device (SID). Radar detects each vehicle and displays its speed, and ConnectIQ logs every reading.

Can I choose pole or trailer mounting?+

Yes. The same sign is available pole mounted for permanent sites or trailer mounted for portable deployment. Choose whichever suits the site.

How is it powered?+

Mains, solar or battery. Solar and battery options let you deploy anywhere on the network, including sites with no grid power.

How accurate is the speed reading?+

Speed feedback is accurate to ±1 km/h, in both directions, so the figures hold up when they go into a report.

Is it AS 5156:2020 compliant?+

MotionIQ is compliant with AS 5156:2020 and carries the RCM mark, backed by EMC, EME and electrical safety test reports. Compliance evidence is available on request.
